Betty Strickland Parks, 78, of Hamlet, went to be with her Lord, Monday, September 21, 2020, at Pruitt Health, High Point.
She was born in Hamlet, July 6, 1942, daughter of Pete Strickland and Lucy Cole Strickland.
Mrs. Parks was a faithful member of her church and loved going there. She enjoyed watching Gospel programs on TV, talking on the telephone and being with her family. She previously was a Certified Nursing Assistant and had worked at Britthaven, as well as doing private duty in homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George “Harvey” Parks, Sr.; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, George H. Parks, Jr. and wife Gail of Hamlet; grandchildren, Sarah Graham of Cordova and Cynthia Sellers and Michael Sellers both of Hamlet; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brian, Nicholas and Sarah.
The Family will be having a Memorial Service at Bible Free Will Worship Church, Hwy. 381, Hamlet, Thursday, September 24, 2020, at 3:00 pm. Mask and social distancing encouraged due to Covid-19.
