Obituary for Danny Garrett Ricks, Sr.
Danny Garrett Ricks, Sr., 74, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond.
He was born July 22, 1948, in Richmond County, son of the late Truby Garrett Ricks, Sr. and Pinkey Odessa Chandler Ricks.
Mr. Ricks previously worked in construction. He loved to build and woodworking. He loved to garden and enjoyed porch-sittin’. Fried porkchops and pinto beans were his favorite meal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Truby Garrett Ricks, Sr. and Pinkey Chandler Ricks; brothers, Larry Ricks, Dale Ricks, and Truby Ricks, Jr.; and grandson, Andy Jordan.
Mr. Ricks is survived by his children, Lisa Lynch (Johnnie) of Southern Pines, Danny Garrett Ricks, Jr. (Amanda) of Rockingham, Anthony Saunders of Wallace, SC, and Kasey Friday (Richard) of Chesterfield, SC; brothers, Chris Ricks (Robin) of Marshville and Mark Ricks (Amy) of Asheboro; sisters, Judy Akins (Ken) of Rockingham and Donna Kay Honeycutt of Southern Pines; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held privately by the family.
