Obituary for David Sean Cuddihy
David Sean Cuddihy, 66, of Hamlet, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
He was born December 8, 1955, in Queens, NY, son of the late Canice Joseph Cuddihy and Marion Hamilton Cuddihy.
David was a computer skills instructor with Richmond Community College prior to retirement. He was known for his humor and wit, and loved to joke with everyone. If there was anything he could help anyone do, even a stranger, he was quick to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed fishing and especially loved the beach, and also enjoyed his yardwork. He was a lover of old movies. Being the family man that he was, he always had something to talk about with his family and loved them dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Canice Joseph and Marion Hamilton Cuddihy; son, Chris McAuley; and grandson, Paul Knight.
David is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Jenkins Cuddihy, of the home; children, Lisa Gardner (Chad) of Hamlet, Vicki Wood of Laurinburg, and Ben McAuley of Hamlet; grandchildren, Heather Hudson, Noah Brigman, Benji McAuley, Abrianna McAuley, Cameran McAuley, and Michelle Anstey; great-grandchildren, Dillon Knight, Hava Butler, and David Anstey; and sister, Miriam Cuddihy of Glendale, NY.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 2:00-3:00pm at Second Baptist Church, Hamlet. The funeral service will begin at 3:00pm, immediately following the visitation, with Rev. Daryl Wrape officiating.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Chad Gardner, 434 Marks Creek Church Road, Hamlet.
