Donald “Don” Knight, 78, of Hamlet, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 24, 1944, in Hamlet, son of the late D.A. Knight and Myrna Terry Knight.

Donald, also known as “Don”, served our country in the United States Air Force. He was retired from CSX Railroad. He enjoyed spending time with his family and outdoors. He is described as selfless and loving. Don will be missed greatly by everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charlie Knight; and sister, Linda Knight.

Don is survived by his wife, Susan Knight of the home; daughter, Dawn Knight Locklear of Hamlet; grandchildren, McKayla Locklear, Ashten Locklear, and Karrington Locklear; great-grandchildren, Landen Locklear and Khrislee Goodwin.

The family will celebrate his life with a private ceremony.
