Obituary for Emily Locklear "Peggy" Lee
Emily “Peggy” Locklear Lee, 78, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, February 27, 2021, at First Health Moore Regional, Pinehurst.
She was born June 26, 1942, in Lumberton, daughter of Walter Ray Locklear and Evelyn Locklear Locklear.
Peggy previously was a member of Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy and attended East Laurinburg Church of God. During her earlier years she was employed at Sara Lee Hosiery. A True Servant of the Lord that never met a stranger. She was always more than willing to help anyone, in anyway, no matter their background and use that opportunity to tell them about Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Lee; daughter, Frances Lee Gazoo; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Irvin Lee (Carrie) of Ellerbe; two brothers; and one sister; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. From 2:00-6:00 pm at home of Helen Staton, 126 Forest Drive, Rockingham.
A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Old Hillside Cemetery, Laurinburg.
