Obituary for Franklin Sherman "Dude" Prevatte
Franklin Sherman “Dude” Prevatte, 76, of Rockingham, passed away, Sunday, September 20, 2020,
at First Health Moore Regional, Pinehurst.
He was born in Scotland County, July 5, 1944, son of Frank C. Prevatte and Josephine Butler Prevatte.
Mr. Prevatte worked for over forty years at Burlington Industries before retiring and was was faithful to attend McColl P.F.B. Holiness Church when he was able. Frank was a honest and caring man, that valued the people in his life. He will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Prevatte and Blonnie Mae P. Miles; brothers, Martin Prevatte, Billy Wayne Prevatte and Tommie Prevatte; and family friend, “Mama Ruth” Whitehead.
Survivors include his son, David Prevatte of the home; grandchildren, Skylar Mack, Billy Jackson and Chakira Terry; brothers, Samuel Prevatte of Hamlet and Kent Prevatte of Bennettsville, SC; sister, Wendy Prevatte of Rockingham; David’s mother, Brenda Prevatte of Bennettsville, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Burial will follow at Ghio Church of God of Prophecy.
The Family will be at the home of his brother, Sammy Prevatte, 740 Springhill Church Road, Hamlet.
