Obituary for James "Jim" Garris McDonald
Mr. James “Jim” Garris McDonald, 78, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
He was born July 27, 1943, in Richmond County, son of the late Willie Grafton and Sallie Lee McDonald.
Mr. McDonald served in the United States Army. He was a conductor with CSX railroad for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Grafton McDonald and Sallie Lee McDonald; brothers, W.C. McDonald and John W. McDonald; and sister, Hattie McDonald Bates.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his siblings, Charlie G. McDonald and Darlene D. McDonald, both of Hamlet, Brenda McDonald Clifton of Rockingham, and Linda McDonald Overton of Vass; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 3:00-4:00pm at Harrington Funeral Home Chapel. The graveside memorial service will follow the visitation at Marks Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
