James “Pap” Carl Steen, 72, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Steen was born December 29, 1949, son of the late J.B. Steen and Irene Paul Steen.

He worked in textiles with Springs Mill and he loved his family, friends, and having a good time.

“Pap” was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. Steen and Irene Paul Steen.

He is survived by his children, Lorie Ann (Jimmy) Poplin of Rockingham, Craig (Michelle) Steen of Rockingham, and Josh Steen of Hamlet; grandchildren, Macy Steen, Zack Allen, Sumer Turner, and Madelynn Steen; great-granddaughter, Addison Smith; brothers, James Everette Steen and Jody (Geraldine) Steen, all of Bennettsville, and Ronnie (Elaine) Steen of Hamlet; sister, Delia “Panky” Steen of Bennettsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 2:00pm-3:00pm at Harrington Funeral Home.

The funeral service will begin at 3:00pm, following the visitation, with Pastor Jamie English officiating. A private burial will be at a later date.

Masks are required for all services.
