Obituary for Martha Wallace McCormick
Martha Wallace McCormick, 81, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Wadesboro Health & Rehab.
She was born October 20, 1940, daughter of the late William Franklin Wallace and Ruby Robbins Wallace.
Ms. McCormick worked numerous jobs including teaching, vending, and in textiles in previous years. In keeping her mind sharp, she enjoyed puzzle books and reading her Bible. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved them dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Robert McCormick, Jr. and Angie Quick; brothers, Timmie Wallace and Sam Wallace; and sister, Risa Mudd.
Ms. McCormick is survived by her children, Michelle Napier (Marvin) and Stacey Sweatt (Tony), all of Rockingham, and Neil McCormick (Amy Fulp McCormick) of Ellerbe; sisters, Mary Gillis of Rockingham, Nettie Hutter (Charlie) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, and Cindy Holloway of Rockingham; grandchildren, Daniel Sweatt, Adam Sweatt, TJ Sweatt, Bree McCormick, Shannon McCormick, Dalton McCormick, Jazmine Crespo, Terry Crespo, Michael Crespo, Kayla Bullard, Brandon Quick, Matthew Quick, and Tongie Webb; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is being planned by the family at a later date.
