Matthew “Matt” Charles Allen, 48, of Rockingham, passed away at his home, Monday, April 19, 2021.

He was born March 5, 1973, in Richmond County, son of James Allen and Alice Moore Allen.

Matt was an avid sports fan, his favorite team being Alabama. He enjoyed Zombie movies, was outspoken and very reliable, he was always there when you needed him. He loved his mother and had a special bond with his great niece and nephew.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Harrington Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 pm

The Funeral will begin in the chapel at 2:00 pm; Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1247 Sandhill Road,Rockingham.

Number of those attending will be limited and mask and social distancing will be required.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Allen; and maternal grandmother, Martha Moore.

Survivors include his mother, Alice Moore Allen of home; son, Matthew Bret Allen of Lincolnton; brother, James Clayton Allen (Christie) of Lumberton; sister, Tracy Allen of Cordova; great niece Alice and great nephew, Kayden.
