Obituary for Maxine Currie McNeill

Maxine Currie McNeill, 85, of Peggy Mill Road, Hamlet, passed away, Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Scotland Memorial Hospital, Laurinburg.
She was born in Richmond County, October 17, 1934, daughter of Daniel Franklin Currie and Lollie Mae Davis Currie.
She was a nurse for forty plus years, graduated from UNC, Chapel Hill with her Master’s in Public Health; the first Nurse Practitioner in Richmond County , was the former Director at Montgomery County Health Department and a member of Marks Creek Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James A. McNeill; son, David Andrew McNeill and a granddaughter, Maggie McNeill.

Survivors include her daughter, Missy Collins and husband Steve of West End; sons, James McNeill of Hamlet and Jon Scott of the home; grandchildren, Mollie Collins of Logan, Utah; Logan Collins of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Andrea Danielle McNeill of Southport.


A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Marks Creek Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM
