Obituary for Michael "Mike" Hal Currie
Michael “Mike” Hal Currie, 68, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at his residence.
He was born August 24, 1954, in Richmond County, son of Gayle Cloninger Currie and the late Rufus Hal Currie.
Mike worked in industrial maintenance and retired from Campbell Soup Company. He was a member of Community Church in Rockingham. He, along with his wife, enjoyed camping and traveling. In prior years, he loved riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Hal Currie.
Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years, Penny Jenkins Currie, of the home; mother, Gayle Cloninger Currie of Ellerbe; son, Jason Michael Currie (Adrienne) of Rockingham; grandson, Lawrence T. Quick; and sister, Leisa Williams (Mike) of Ellerbe.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 5:00-6:00pm at Community Church, Rockingham.
A Celebration of Life service will follow the visitation, at 6:00pm, with Pastor Chris Thornton officiating.
