Obituary for Phillip "Ray" Greene, Jr.
Phillip “Ray” Greene, Jr., 51, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 at his residence.
He was born September 30, 1970, in Richmond County, son of Jean Thompson Greene and the late Phillip Ray Greene, Sr.
Ray worked previously as a Specialist in Behavior Intervention with Scotland County Schools. He was a talented carver, carving very detailed pieces out of wood, stone, and deer antlers. He will be missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Ray Greene, Sr.
Ray is survived by his mother, Jean Thompson Greene of Rockingham; sister, Teresa Chance (Randy) of Hamlet; nieces, Cassie Gray (Ronnie), Jordyn Chance, and Kamlyn Ledwell; great-niece, Lilah Chance; uncle, Mike Greene; aunts, Lela Thompson, Bertha Greene, and Cathy Greene; and cousin, Shane Greene.
A memorial service will be held graveside at Marks Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Sunday, May 1, 2022 beginning at 3:00pm. Minister Andrew Stewart will officiate.
