Obituary for Roger Dale Smith
Roger Dale Smith, 65, of Hamlet went home to be with the Lord, Friday, January 15, 2021.
He was born October 11, 1955, in Richmond County, son of Herman and Sue Smith.
A humble man that loves the simple things in life; whether in his garden, raising his chickens, or singing and playing his guitar. A man that has a great love for his family, his wife of forty seven years, his daughters and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Jack Hill, III.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Hogan Smith; daughters, Robyn Hill (Robbie) of Hamlet, Angel Johnson(Tim) of Norwood, Amy Johnson (Chris) of Hamlet and Courtnie Mabe of Rockingham; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Lane of Hamlet; and brother, Johnnie Vickers of Hamlet.
A Graveside Service will be held at The Church of God of Prophecy at Ghio ,on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm, Rev. David Shankle will be officiating. Burial will follow.
Those attending are ask to wear a mask and to please continue to social distance.
Due to Covid restrictions there will be no visitation.
