Obituary for Steve Booker Bowman
Steve Booker Bowman, 71, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
He was born May 30, 1951, in Richmond County, son of the late Booker and Louise Goins Bowman.
Steve worked in textiles with Sara Lee Hosiery and with Perdue, prior to retirement. He enjoyed working on cars. He was also a master at building and rebuilding structures and loved to “piddle” around his house. His family could always count on him when needed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Booker and Louise Bowman; wife, Sandra Faye Hammonds Bowman; and brothers, Bobby Bowman and Carley Bowman.
Steve is survived by his children, Todd Gibson (Jean) of Rockingham, Larry Gibson of Chesterfield, SC, and Tracy Gibson of Rockingham; brother, Billy Bowman (Wanda) of Hamlet; sister, Sandra Potter (Wayne) of Rockingham; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 1:00-2:00pm at Harrington Funeral Home.
The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, at 2:00pm, in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home, with Pastor Alex Perakis officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery, Rockingham.
